REVIEW: Bourjouis 123 Perfect Foundation

Hi everyone, today I am reviewing one of Bourjois latest foundation offerings, the 123 perfect foundation. The concept for this product is the 3 correcting pigments which target three problems.
Just so you know Boots send me this product to review as I am a member of their product testing panel, however they are not paying me for this review and it will be 100% honest.

The three correcting pigments are yellow which helps with dark circles, mauve which helps prevent a dull complexion and green which targets redness. The only problem of those three I suffer with is redness around my cheeks and forehead so I was excited to see if this worked.

I have heard a lot of negativity about this foundation and I went into the application with a negative review but I don't think it's that bad! Lets start with the positives: The formulation is quite thick and I would say it is medium coverage and I did notice it gave me a very even skin tone. It applies really smoothly and blends really well, (I used the real techniques buffing brush) It left my skin with a velvet matt finish and I didn't need to apply powder.
I would say if you had very dry skin this wouldn't work as it does leave a matt finish but if you had normal to oily skin then it would suit you fine.

Now onto the negatives: It only lasted for about four hours before it started to wear off and once it had worn off it left a patchy finish which is not very nice. The smell isn't too good either especially if you've been using the Healthy Mix foundation from Bourjois (which I love by the way)

The packaging is really nice, a sturdy glass bottle with a pump. That's really all there is to say about it.
Compared to the Healthy Mix foundation I would say it doesn't live up to it. The healthy mix smells amazing, leaves a medium coverage dewy finish and looks perfect all day. However if you had oily skin you may prefer the 123 perfect foundation finish.

This foundation comes in 5 shades so there may not be a colour to suit every skin. When Boots asked me to select my shade I chose beige which looked like it might suit me. To be honest it's slightly dark and they didn't give me the numbers on the website. For the Healthy Mix foundation I wear 52 so that will give you an idea if you are looking at colours.

Overall, it's ok but I wouldn't spend my own money on it,
If you are interested in trying it Boots are currently selling for £6.99 instead of the usual £11.99 so its a little bit cheaper. You can check it out here.

I hope this has been helpful,

Not more makeup!!

Hi everyone, today is another post of more makeup I have purchased. The 3 for 2 offer was still in full swing and I took advantage one again, leaving with six items.

The first thing I knew I wanted to try is the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara, there has been so much hype around this mascara and I really wanted to try it. It's very reasonably priced at a little over £8 so if it works I'll be very happy!!

I am in love with my real techniques brushes and the stippling brush was next on my list. It is basically a small dense stippling brush that gives an airbrushed effect when applying liquid foundation. This cost around £12 so a good price if it works well.

The next two items were from Soap and Glory cosmetics and they are the first two makeup items i've tried from them, the smoulder khol and the cat eyeliner. I didn't get a photo but here is a swatch of the khol liner. It is very black and smudgeable but once it sets it doesn't budge, even on the waterline! This only costs £5 and I think it's a bargain and very comparable to Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in zero.
I haven't tried the cat eyeliner yet as i've got so many liquid liners on the go. Basically it's one of the liquid pen liners, I swatched it in the shop and it was very black and had a nice glossy finish so I've got high hopes for this one.

I finally cracked and picked up Maybelline's colour tattoo in endless purple, it's been catching my eye ever since they were launched. Purple is a universal colour which will suit any skin tone, hair colour and eye colour so i'm really looking forward to experimenting with it.

The consistency is just like the others I have, thick, creamy and very blendable but once they set they wont crease and they make eyeshadow really pop! I really recommend these colour tattoo's and I think they are just as good as MAC paint pots but are a fraction of the price at only £4.99!!

The final item is another lip butter from revlon, the last two colours I bought were very 'safe' and I wanted a brighter more daring colour. I chose the shade lollipop which is a blue toned fuscia. It is incredibly pigmented and has the same glossy balm texture which feels lovely on the lips.

I am seriously impressed with this shade and will be using loads in Spring and Summer.

I hope you enjoyed this post,

Recent Beauty Purchases

Hi everyone, every makeup brand is coming out with their new range of gorgeous spring products.
With Boots enticing 3 for 2 offer how could I refuse??
I picked up the much anticipated Revlon Lip Butters, Maybelline Colour Tattoo's and a new Loreal Caress Lipstick that are currently being raved about.
P.S. I didn't notice the revlon lip butters at first because they weren't being promoted unlike all the other products, they were just shoved in next to the lipsticks so keep your eyes peeled for them!

The two colour tattoo's I picked up were in the shades permanent taupe and on and on bronze.
These are very comparable to MAC paint pots and only a fraction of the price.
These cost £4.99 and there is a wide variety of shades to choose from.

They have a very thick creamy consistency but are very easy to blend. You probably have about 30 seconds to work with them and then they set and wont budge. They don't crease and make eyeshadows really pop. I love these and can't wait to try more shades.

Permanent Taupe, On and On Bronze

The next few things I picked up are all very similar, I got two lip butters and one of Loreal's new lipsticks.

They are all very similar in colour but these are the colours I wear on a regular basis so I know these will get lots of use.

The first lip butter in in Cotton Candy, this is a mid toned pink with gold shimmer. The consistency of these lip butters are amazing! They apply really smoothly and last for ages. I think they are as opaque as a lipstick. They feel very moisturising and have a glossy finish so there is no need for a lipgloss.
These cost £7.99 so aren't cheap but for the quality I think they are worth it.

The next colour I chose is cupcake, this is a gorgeous candy baby pink colour, it is very pigmented and has a blue, silver shimmer. I really love this one and it will be perfect in Spring.

The Loreal lipstick I chose is in shade 03, lovely rose. This was the last one in Boots so it must be a popular colour and I can see why. It is such a pretty rosy pink colour and the consistency is amazing. There is no shimmer just a gorgeous glossy texture and the colour is very opaque so there is no need for a lipgloss.

I really love all the products I purchased and would recommend all of them.
