Products I regret buying

I've been meaning to do this post for a while.
Its all very well raving about loads of products but what I prefer hearing about is the products not to purchase. So here we are, a few things that I have bought and has disappointed me,

1. Lancome shine seduction lipstick, shade 337
I don't have a swatch for you (my camera isn't working for some reason) but it swatches very glossy which is nice but there is loads of shimmer. It wears off very quickly and your lips are left with a load of unflattering shimmer. Not very nice. I haven't tried any other colours so I can't give an opinion on those but shade 337 gets a thumbs down from me.

2. Accessorize Diamond lip gloss, shade temptation

In the shop this looked like the most gorgeous pink ligloss ever. It only cost four pounds so I excitedly paid for it and slapped it on. The excitement ended there. It is chunks of glitter in a thick pink gloss. It wears off so quickly and your lips are left looking like you've been kissing a pot of glitter. Really not nice. I've swatched other colours and they all appear to have the same consistency. I would stay well away from this lipgloss line.

3. No7 Highlighter in peach

This is kind of pricey for a drugstore highlighter, setting you back £11.
I liked the concept, the squeezy tube and the brush. However it has some major flaws. Firstly every time I squeeze out too much product which is a complete waste and also the brush clogs ups making application quite a tedious task. For that reason I never reach for it so that's why I've included it.

4. MUA Extreme curl mascara

The packaging looks amazing, and for only two pounds you can't go wrong.
I got this in Superdrugs current 3 for 2 offer. I've used it twice and hate it. The wand is curved, hence the name extreme curl but the fibres that stick out are so short so they collect the mascara and it looks like one gloopy mass. Also it doesn't give any curl to my lashes. It leaves them exactly the same. The only thing it does is colour them a nice black, but that smudges off during the day.
I really wouldn't recommend this but as it was only £2 you can't complain really.

That's all for now,
when I collect a few more products I will do an updated post

New goodies!!!

When performing the drawn out task of Christmas shopping I like to reward myself occasionally,
So here we are, a few things that slipped into my basket :)

1. Benefit Tan about Town £9 Asos

This set comes with three good sized miniatures, Some kinda gorgeous foundation in medium, The ever famous Hoola bronzer and Bad gal lash mascara.

The bronzer lives up to expectations. It's lovely and soft, it blends really well and it compliments my skin tone. It is an unusual colour i'm inclined to say it's slightly khaki. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The foundation is cream to powder. I thought it was going to be the wrong shade but it fits my skin tone really well. It dries to a lovely powder and has great coverage. I would definitely consider buying the full size.

Finally the mascara. Firstly i'll state the obvious the wand is huge. It is literally the length of my eye which makes covering the smaller lashes a problem. I have found the best way to use this is as a second layer over a lengthening mascara.

I have been a fan of pantene smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner for many years but I feel I need a change. Hence, Vo5 gloss me smoothly. I am yet to try it out but will let you know how I get on.

MUA products are fantastic, they are £1 and great quality. So I was very excited when their professional range came out. Ranging from £2 to £4. Hardly expensive.

Their eyeshadows are amazing from their original line so I was eager to try out their new baked shadows. This trio is in purple passion.
The colours are really shimmery. They swatch quite pigmented but the colour payoff isn't as good.

Above, with primer
Below, without primer

These eyeshadows definitely need a primer otherwise they crease and fade. However the colours are really pretty and for £2.50 you can't complain.

So there we go, that's a little overview of my latest purchases.

Would you rather....

Hi everyone,

Today is another tag post,
I've been bitten by the tag bug :)
I hope you enjoy this one x

#1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up, or nice hair and no make-up?

Definitely messy hair and nice makeup because I rock the messy hair look everyday

#2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

I have experienced both these, I accidently over plucked my eyebrows and once my eyes reacted to false lashes and alot of them fell out. Losing your eyelashes is horrible so I would definitely shave my eyebrows as they are alot easier to draw in

#3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?

Mac because Sephora is a long way away since I live in the UK

#4. Would you rather wear the lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?

80's perm but I would hate it :)

#5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

The foundation line because that's quite easy to rub in

#6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?

Probably biker shorts because at least it makes you look like you're fit

#7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?

Weird tan lines, I get them alot on holiday with criss cross straps

#8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?

Definitely haircut, I have never dyed my hair and don't intend to until it's necessary, I think a bad haircut grows out quite quickly

#9. Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?

Probably twitter because I don't have it!!!

#10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Brushes, No look is complete without mascara

Make me Blush

Blush, it's one of my weaknesses. Every time a new collection comes out or a new formulation I am like a magpie, I sidle up to the counter stuff a load in my basket and checkout. That's about how it goes.
However, here are my favourites at the moment. Most of them are drugstore but there is one that's a bit expensive.

1. Maybelline Dream Touch Blush Number 6 £5.99

This blush is soooo pigmented. Seriously this will last you for the rest of your life. I have had it for five or six months and use it all the time. But i've hardly made a dent in it. You need the tiniest amount.
It is a gorgeous pink rose colour, it's perfect for any time of year, it gives a beautiful flush to the cheeks. I loooove it.

2. Elf Studio blush, Tickled pink, £3.50

This is showing up slightly peach in the pictures but in person it is a beautiful soft pink with a hint of silver shimmer. Gorgeous!!!!
Most of the time light coloured blushes aren't very pigmented but this one is really nice. I love this for spring and summer for a little bit of colour to brighten my face.

3. Me Me ME poppy tint £6.99

Me Me Me is known for duping the high end brand Benefit. This is a very good dupe for posie tint. At a fraction of the price the packaging is gorgeous, it's a really pigmented colour and lasts for ages because it's a stain. It also looks beautiful on the lips. I definitely checking out their range of cheek stains.

4. Borjuois little round pot blushers, number 34 £6.99

These are just too cute. They are the perfect size, they have a mirror and they are baked. What more could you want? This is a gorgeous bright pink with a ton of golden shimmer. This is perfect as a blush or highlight.

5. Benefit Gorgia, £23.50

Sorry I don't have a proper photo, I simply forgot whilst I was snapping away at the other four. Basically this is the perfect peach blusher. If you are on the hunt for one, look no more. This is so beautiful. I use it all the time. It's pigmented, it's got shimmer and it's in a cute little box!!!!
It is quite a light coloured blush so it would work as a really nice highlight for darker skintones.
Definitely recommend this.

Gorgia, Maybelline cream blush, Elf tickled pink, Me Me Me poppy tine, Borjouis 34

So there you go. These are my favourite current blushes.
I would love to know what you currently reach for.

Top of the Shops

I'm not gonna lie. I love shops. I love the excitement of browsing through newly added sales lines and the the thrill of walking out with your new bag of goodies.
So moving swiftly on this brings me to the point of this post.
My favourite shops

1. Primark

I love it because its cheap. I love being able to buy quantity without feeling guilty. Fashions come and go so fast its hard to keep up. Primark allows you to buy all the latest fashions at a fraction of the price. Having said that its not the best quality and the clothing will probably only last a year but for the price you can't complain. Primark definitely gets a thumbs up!

2. H&M

I love H&M. The clothing is great quality and it's still very affordable. I have pieces in my closet that i've had for at least three years and they're still going strong. They also have great selections and great sales.

3. New Look

I have a love hate relationship with New Look. I find their clothes very samey but occasionally you find a gem lurking in their massive disorganised sale racks. However New Look always comes up trumps with their shoes.

They have amazing shoes for amazing prices. Nearly all my ridiculous high heels are from New Look. They also have a great trendy range for my wide footed friends.
P.S. if you are a student you get 10% discount. Yay!!!

4. Topshop
I love browsing in Topshop but very rarely make a purchase due to the crazy high price tag. For a highstreet shop I find the prices a little too much. However, I love their sales and most of their clothing I own was found in their sale racks.
If you have a slightly bigger budget than me i'm so envious because I love all their stuff.

5. River Island

Last but not least is River Island. Again they are quite expensive but I love their jeans. They fit really well and last a long time. They are usually priced between £40 and £60 so they're not too bad. I'm quite lucky to have a big River Island 20minutes drive away so I like to pop in and browse their stock because sometimes they have amazing deals like £20 off jeans. I tend to grab a few pairs when this deal comes around.

There we go they are my favourite High Street shops. I hope this was interesting.

I love freebies!!!!!!

A few days ago ELF cosmetics had a great deal where you spent £10 and you got free shipping and a mystery gift worth over ten pounds. As a sucker for free gifts I rushed to website, added to my basket, ordered and waited impatiently to receive.
Firstly, the shipping was lightening speed. I ordered Tuesday night and received Thursday.

I tore open my box and had a massive surprise. The mystery gift consisted of four items which I love.

Firstly I will talk about the items I purchased. The first item was a purple eyeliner in Purple Passion from the regular line. £1.50

It's very pigmented, glides on really well and pretty long wearing. I really like it.

The second item was a repurchase. The mineral infused mascara from the Studio line in black. £3.50

The wand reminds me alot of Max Factor Masterpiece mascara. I really like it as it's lengthens and separates.
I got a few other items but they are presents for other people.

Onto my freebies.

My pick of the bunch is the Cream blush in Flirt.

It looks pretty intense in the pot but it swatches as a soft dolly pink. The blush is cream to powder. It blends really well and looks gorgeous on the cheeks. This costs £6.

Secondly I received a studio matte colour in Praline.

The packaging is very similar to Mac shadesticks. The colour isn't what I would go for it's a dark brick brown. However its a nice Autumn colour so I will use it. Despite being a matte finish it is surprisingly creamy and looks really nice on the lips.

I received a nail polish in Golden Goddess

I have one coat on to show you. It is very sheer, it would look great layered over another colour. This costs £1.50.

I also received the purple eyeliner again so i'm giving that to my sister.

I am so pleased with all my gifts. If you managed to get this deal I would love to know what free gifts you got.
